In alignment with BRASA’s vision of advancing academic excellence and collaborative breast practice in India, the Department of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at Amrita Hospital, Faridabad, conducted a focused CME on Oncology-Driven Oncoplastic Breast Surgery on 21st February 2026.
The meeting was structured around a key principle increasingly endorsed within BRASA forums — that reconstruction must be integrated into oncologic planning from the very first consultation. The scientific program brought together experts in surgical oncology, plastic surgery, radiation oncology, and systemic therapy to deliberate on contemporary issues including therapeutic mammoplasty, local perforator flaps, immediate versus delayed reconstruction, radiation interface, and the impact of neoadjuvant chemotherapy on axillary and reconstructive strategy.
A highlight of the CME was the multidisciplinary panel discussion titled “Precision & Personalisation in Breast Cancer Care: Integrating Genomics, Reconstruction and Survivorship.” The exchange reflected the evolving national shift toward biology-driven, patient-centred breast care — where aesthetic restoration is recognised as integral to survivorship, not ancillary to cancer treatment.
The program witnessed active participation from consultants, fellows, and residents, fostering meaningful dialogue and strengthening the culture of integrated breast units.
Awarded 3 Credit Hours by the Haryana Medical Council, the CME reaffirmed the collective commitment to evidence-based, oncology-driven, and ethically grounded reconstructive practice.
Such academic initiatives continue to reflect BRASA’s commitment to shaping contemporary breast surgery in India through multidisciplinary collaboration, rigorous discussion, and shared learning.
